Hopkins Becomes Hitchcock
Can you handle the world of Psycho? It's one of Hollywood's most celebrated films and is showcased in the new drama, Hitchcock. The first trailer for the biopic has been released and it doesn't pull any punches.
Have you ever stared into the soul of a genius? Alfred Hitchcock is one of the most prolific filmmakers of all time. The British director brought us thrilling classics such as Suspicion, Rebecca, Strangers on a Train, Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, North by Northwest and arguably his most popular film, Psycho.
The latter takes center stage in Hitchcock, the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Rebello’s 1990 book, Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. The film stars Anthony Hopkins as the famous director who pushes Hollywood's buttons to get his movie made.
At the time, the studios and press were weary of Hitchcock's staying power. He was getting older, and they thought he'd lost his touch. Boy were they wrong! Once he had Psycho in his sights there was no stopping him. His devoted wife Alma (Helen Mirren) was there for the ups and downs as he struggled to take the story from page to screen.
Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated biopic. Judging from the footage, Hitchcock details the drama both behind and in front of the camera. It shines a light on the director's marriage, and reveals the casting process of Psycho's leading lady Janet Leigh (Scarlett Johansson).
