Jessica Simpson talks the real challenges of losing weight in her first commercial for Weight Watchers.
This week is all about Jessica Simpson's post-baby weight loss, it seems. First, the singer appeared on Katie Couric's new talk show Katieto dish on her 40-pound drop — and now her Weight Watchers commercial is on the air.
"I'm Jessica Simpson and yes, I'm doing Weight Watchers," Simpson says in the 30-second spot. "There is a lot of pressure to lose weight, but I'm not a supermodel. I'm just Jessica trying to eat real food in the real world, and I really just wanna be healthy for my daughter. So I knew Weight Watchers was the only way to go. It's working. I'm on my way and it feels amazing. Really, I just wanna be a better version of myself."
We hear you, Jess.
However, one thing is noticeably missing from Simpson's Weight Watchers commercial: shots of her body! Cameras are fixed in a tight shot of the Fashion Star mentor's face — no quick glimpses of her body. It's likely the focus of the commercial is to explain Simpson's progress and the big "reveal" will happen when she's dropped all of her contracted weight.
It shouldn't be too much longer, though: The mom of Maxwell Drew told Couric that she's only a few pounds away from her goal.
"I set small goals for myself. I've lost weight every week, thank God, but I've worked really hard. I have to shoot a new season of Fashion Star," she said. The key — she said — is diet.
"I had to stay focused on my diet. I want to be as healthy as I can because I'm a mom now," Simpson added. "The only fish I ever ate was a fish stick. Now I'm trying to eat fish."
