Ever wonder how Teen Mom star Catelynn Lowell got so mature at such a young age? Well, she has her (formerly) drunken mom, April, to thank for that. The MTV star recently told RadarOnline that she had to grow up fast since her mom was drunk all the time.

"I would put pillows underneath her head while she was passed out on the table," Catelynn recalled of her childhood. "I pretty much saw my mom drunk almost every day. I had to grow up really fast."

April has been sober since last September, but that didn't stop her from concocting a fake pregnancy story about her daughter. April — estranged from her husband (the father of Catelynn's fiancé, Tyler) — posed as her daughter in an interview with InTouch Weekly earlier this summer. Catelynn later debunked the rumors.

The reality star doesn't seem to hold a grudge against her mom, though she does vow to take custody of her younger brother if her mom falls off the wagon again.

"If my mom derails again, I will step in and adopt my brother," Catelynn said. "I know that my mom loves her children, but when it comes to addict parents, sometimes they love their drug or their alcohol more than they love their children."

"I feel bad Catelynn had to grow up around me drinking all the time. She shouldn't have had to worry about her mom," April said, adding that Catelynn would be a good parental influence on her brother. "But it's not going to happen. My kids are too important to me."

Let's hope so.
