Starz's acclaimed drama Boss centers on Chicago Mayor Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer) and his personal and professional struggles. Every move he makes affects millions of people, especially those closest to him.
Who receives the brunt of Tom's wrath? Could it be his wife, Meredith Kane, played pitch-perfectly by Danish actress Connie Nielsen?
Immaculately groomed, professional, confident and formidable, Meredith's unassailable public persona seems too embedded to allow her to have or reveal emotion.
Polite but no longer emotionally engaged with her husband, Meredith goes to his public outings without question, and handles her own end of their business.
She spends her time working on projects that fit her agenda. For example, she spearheads an independent educational organization that's funding the city's failing schools -- with steely commitment.
Aside from Grammer and Nielsen, Boss co-stars Hannah Ware, Jeff Hephner, Kathleen Robertson, Troy Garity and Rotimi. Season two will feature the addition of several new regulars including Jonathan Groff as Ian Todd, a smart and ambitious young advisor to Kane, and Sanaa Lathan as Alderman Ross' strong-willed and politically savvy Chief of Staff, Mona Fredericks.
Rapper-turned-actor Tip Harris (better known as T.I.) will also appear as Trey, a former gangbanger with designs on a career in City Hall.
Boss season two premieres Aug. 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Starz.
