The plot thickens in KStew cheating scandal

Kristen Stewart's illicit hookup with her Snow White and the Huntsman boss Rupert Sanders is all anyone can talk about. Now Stewart has confirmed the rumors in an official statement.

Some Kristen Stewart supporters thought they proved the US Weekly photo showing an embrace between the actress and her Snow White and the Huntsman director was Photoshop.

Sorry fans, it's not: Stewart has apologized for cheating on her boyfriend of two-plus years, Robert Pattinson.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," Stewart said in a statement to People. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

This has to be some sort of first: It's not often that a celebrity will own up to his or her indiscretions so quickly — especially one as private as Stewart.

News of the affair between Stewart and 41-year-old director Rupert Sanders broke on Tuesday afternoon when US Weekly announced they had photos of the couple together. Since then, fans have fought back and forth about whether or not it's all a setup.

It's not.

"Kristen was sitting with her back up against the driver’s-side window, and this guy was kissing her entire body,” a source told Us Weekly of their public hookup last week. "At one point Rupert reportedly looked startled and pulled away, but the two went back to smooching quickly. Eventually, according to the report, Rupert looked nervous again and the two left the parking lot."

"He was all over her."

Sanders' wife, model Liberty Ross, apparently learned of the news before we did, judging from a cryptic tweet from her now-defunct Twitter account.

"Wow," she tweeted before deleting her account. She also posted a photo of Snow White on her Instagram account with the message "not so pretty and pure after all," a definite slam on Stewart.

It's likely that Stewart is going to feel the brunt of the criticism for cheating on the man who plays the beloved Edward Cullen. However, it's Sanders who should be "so sorry" for taking advantage of a much younger woman (he's 41, she's 22) and cheating on his wife and two small children. Don't worry, he's "distraught" over the whole thing.

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," Sanders told People Wednesday afternoon. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

Distraught over the affair? Sounds like distraught he got caught.
