From Saturday Night Live to Bridesmaids, Kristen Wiig has tickled the funny bones of all of us. Now the funny lady has said goodbye to her late-night TV stomping grounds and is moving on up the A list.
Wiig, sexing it up in a low cut suit jacket with nothing underneath on the cover of the latest issue of Marie Claire, told the mag why she said goodbye to the show that made her famous.
"I know a lot of people probably assume, 'Oh, she's leaving because she is going to be doing movies now and things like that,' which I will be," she said. "But I just always knew it was going to be seven and that was it. I think maybe if I were 22, I could see myself staying a little bit, but it just felt like the right time."
Regardless, "it was very emotional. I just wanted to get through it without breaking down in every sketch," she shared. "Because nothing says comedy like breaking down."
Despite that difficult goodbye, the actress/writer said that life has never been better. In addition to a slew of movies including The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller and The Comedian with Robert DeNiro, things are heating up in her personal life too.
"I will say that I'm happier than I've ever been, and I feel very lucky," she said, hinting at her rumored romance with Drew Barrymore's ex Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes. "Where I am now. Who he is. Those are the two big ones."
