The Motor City Madman opens his motormouth

Ted Nugent never bites his tongue when it comes to politics. Find out what the rocker thinks about Obamacare -- spoiler alert: He thinks the United States would have been better off if the South won the Civil War.

Ted Nugent and the Civil War

What does Ted Nugent think?

That's typically the thought that comes to mind when we're struggling with life's problems. The Motor City Madman again answered our prayers by weighing in on whether or not our country is turning into a socialist wasteland in a Washington Times op-ed. In the piece — published on July 5 — Nugent admonishes Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts for not voting down President Barack Obama's healthcare mandate.

"With Chief Justice Roberts‘ vote to save Obamacare, I was reminded of what my dad told me more than 50 years ago: Never trust a man who wears a black robe. He might be naked under there, the "Cat Scratch Fever" singer wrote.

"Chief Justice Roberts squandered the opportunity to restore judicial, financial and legislative sanity to a government that by any sane person’s standards is insane and addicted to centralized federal control of our lives," he added. "Because our legislative, judicial and executive branches of government hold the 10th Amendment in contempt, I’m beginning to wonder if it would have been best had the South won the Civil War. Our Founding Fathers’ concept of limited government is dead."

Um, that's a bit of a stretch. No matter how you feel about Obamacare, one thing is certain: The Civil War was largely fought over slavery — and if the South would have won we'd probably still have slaves and women's suffrage never would have happened. Oh, and gay marriage? Fugetaboutit!

We realize that Nugent is talking about small government and states' rights, not slavery. Still, we can probably all agree that the Civil War turned out for the best.

This is hardly the first time The Nuge has spoken out against President Obama. The guitarist went under Secret Service scrutiny in April when he wished death on president (though he later denied he meant it that way.) In May, he offered to use his sexual organs to prove his superiority when it comes to politics.

"I'm an extremely loving and passionate man, and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, ascertain the conclusion that I'm a damned nice guy," Nugent yelled during the CBS interview, "and if you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I'll suck your d**k."

"Or I'll f**k you, how's that sound?" he yelled to an off-camera female producer, adding, "I'm a perfect human being. I stumble perfectly. But I also aspire to and accomplish a perfect standing up, dusting off in that arena and continue on."

Well, at least someone believes in your opinions, Nuge — you.
