Adam Sandler makes other people laugh (well, sometimes) -- but his daughters only cringe when they see their dad. Find out why he embarrasses them.
Apparently Adam Sandler doesn't just embarrass himself on a regular basis: The comedian and father of two said his daughters are mortified by him. Why? His style of dress is ridiculous, according to the toddlers.
"I do embarrass them now," he told People while promoting his new movie, That's My Boy, with Andy Samberg. The Happy Gilmore actor plays the SNL alum's father in the film.
The biggest target of their ire is his constant shorts wearing.
"I wear shorts a lot," the 45-year-old said. "And my kids do ask me to put pants on when I go to school. They ask, 'Could you just one time wear pants?’ And every time I get out of the car, I look down and I go, 'I got those shorts on! Who’s gonna yell at me?’"
"I don’t look forward to it," he added of embarrassing his daughters Sadie, 6, and Sunny, 2. However, the actor -- currently filming Grown Ups 2 in Boston -- is turning into his own dad.
"My father used to wear the same pants for like a week," Sandler recalled of his dad. "And I remember that was like, 'My friends have been over three times this week, and they’ve seen him in the brown pants (every time). Can I please convince this guy to get on some blue pants for the day?’"
"I’m getting older, and it happens," he added. "You get a little (to the point where) you don’t care as much. I’m definitely at that age."
