SNL's Funny Girl Finale
Saturday Night Live has lost one of its own. Kristen Wiig, who appeared on the show for seven seasons, said goodbye during last week's finale. It was an emotional farewell complete with castmates (past and present), guest stars and a serenade from Mick Jagger.
For the show's final segment, Jagger served as emcee to a graduating class, where Wiig's character got special attention.
He said, "You meant quite a lot to us over the past seven years. She got held back. So our music department got together and prepared a song to say goodbye. This one's for you."
Wiig got on stage and ripped off her cap and gown, while Jagger jumped into a rendition of "Ruby Tuesday." She then danced with her fellow castmates one last time. In the video, you can clearly see Jason Sudeikis getting a little choked up.
The musical number bled into the episode's final curtain call where we saw former SNL stars Chris Kattan, Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch lend their support. With all that love, it's no surprise Wiig shed a few tears.
