Men in Black III star Will Smith is an all-around nice guy, but even nice guys have their limits. The actor was making his way down the red carpet at the Moscow premiere of his film when he stopped to talk to a Ukrainian reporter. The reporter — known for his silly and odd PDAs with celebrities — tried to kiss Smith on the mouth.
That's when things got heated.
"What the hell is your problem, man?" Smith yelled at the reporter before slapping him. The camera showed the reporter's sheepish response to the slap while Smith gathered his composure and moved on to another reporter.
"He's lucky I didn't sucker-punch him," the angry actor said. "Oh, sorry, I said that on camera."
Some are questioning Smith's reaction, saying this ruins his nice guy reputation. We say no way: The kiss — joking or not — was uncalled for and we probably would have put our knee to his you-know-what if that was us. As far as we're concerned, Smith was nice with the slight slap.
Smith usually has a good attitude about everything — he has to with young children like Jaden Smith and Willow Smith. Jaden even managed to push his dad's buttons during an Easter weekend visit to the White House.
"I was at the White House with my family and we were getting a tour and, you know, Barack and Michelle and Sasha and Malia... And it's me, Jada and the kids and we're walking through the White House. And the night before Jaden had said to me, 'Dad, I got to ask the president about the aliens.' I was like, 'Dude, no.' It's not cool. It's not cool. It's embarrassing," he recalled on the BBC's Radio One earlier this week.
The president led the Smith family into the White House situation room — and that's when Jaden saw his chance to do a little Men in Black III cross-promotion.
"...Jaden gets the look in his eyes and he leans over and says, 'Dad, what's my punishment?' And I was like, 'Jaden, do not.' And you know, Barack is talking about the Situation Room and Jaden says, 'Excuse me, Mr. President.' I was like, 'Hey, Barack, man…' And Barack said, 'Don't tell me.' And in perfect form, and this is why he's the president, he stopped and looked at Jaden said, 'The aliens, right?'"
Obama didn't miss a beat. "'I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of extraterrestrials, but I can tell you if there had been a top-secret meeting and if there would have had to have been a discussion about it, it would have taken place in this room.'"
But back to the slap: We just have one thing to say — Go Will!
