Jessica Simpson expands to maternity clothes

In January, the very pregnant Jessica Simpson vowed to create a maternity line full of comfortable clothes for mamas-to-be.

"The next thing you will see from the Jessica Simpson line is maternity," the Fashion Star mentor told reporters. She made good on her promise! The mother of baby Maxwell Drew Johnson is releasing a line of fashion maternity clothing through Destination Maternity.

"Full of breezy, everyday pieces, the collection is aimed at the modern mom-to-be who wants to maintain her fashion edge throughout her pregnancy," the company said in a press release. The line will hit the company's 700 stores — and Macy's — this fall. Prices will start at $36. "The collection has a vintage '70s feel. Mixing patterns and textures gives the debut collection a cool, relaxed vibe."

Other featured pieces will include vintage print tops, leggings, denim, jackets and, of course, Simpson's favorite maxi and jersey knit dresses. The singer practically lived in free-flowing dressed during her 85 months of pregnancy.

"I'm so excited to partner with Destination Maternity to design a collection of fashionable styles that make you look and feel great!" Simpson said. "You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show your bump off."

We're expect a sellout — especially since Simpson's signature line has already made the singer into a billion-dollar fashion mogul. She also received a reported $800K payday from People for the first photos of baby Maxwell. Will a line of baby clothes follow? We're willing to bet on it, especially after her tweet over the weekend.

"I'm addicted to buying headbands w massive flowers for Maxwell on etsy! She is insanely beautiful I can't help but play dress up!"

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Maxwell turned out to be the biggest tomboy ever? Jess wouldn't know what to do.
