Battle of the divas! Daytime Emmy noms announced

General Hospital gets 23 Nods!

It's that time again. The Daytime Emmy Awards are bringing the drama. Today, the nominees for the best in soaps, talk and informative programming were revealed. And it looks like ABC and CBS came out on top.

Wednesday morning, the nominees were announced for the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. To no one's surprise, ABC's General Hospital led the pack with 23 nods. That includes outstanding drama, as well as lead and supporting actors.

Coming in second place is The Young and the Restless and Sesame Street, which each pulled 16 nominations.

This is the last year defunct soaps All My Children and One Life to Live were eligible for submission. Both shows were previously canceled with AMC ending last September, and OLTL in January.

Surprisingly, Shelley Hennig, who currently plays Diana on The CW's The Secret Circle, scored a nomination for outstanding younger actress. Prior to joining the primetime drama, Hennig appeared as Stephanie Johnson on the NBC soap Days of Our Lives.
