Out With The Old, In With The New!
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned -- especially when she's your boss, right? But Tyra Banks swears there's no hard feelings behind the ANTM firings.
It came as a shock when showrunner Tyra Banks announced that she was firing her three main men from America's Next Top Model: judge and photographer Nigel Barker, creative director Jay Manuel and model coach J. Alexander. So why did she do it?
"We reached a point where we feel that the show just needs a new boost," she said to Access Hollywood. "There's a lot of people that go into that decision."
The supermodel explained, "It's very difficult because I love my guys -- they're my guys, they've been there since the beginning of the show. But they'll still be there because my partner, Ken Mok, and I have projects that we're developing."
One of these projects will be kept a secret for at least another year and a half, and will explain why Banks decided to go to Harvard and pursue a business degree from the Ivy League university.
Nevertheless, she also added, "We're a family, so it doesn't end."
Banks confirmed the rumors last Friday with a thankful statement:
"Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J. Alexander have been an integral part of the America’s Next Top Model brand," the statement reads. "And they helped turn this show into the household name it is today. They have been amazing assets to the show and will always be a part of the Top Model family. We will continue to actively work with each of them on future projects."
