Season 5 Brings A New Reality For Mad Men
Everyone's favorite ad men are back! SheKnows hit the carpet at the Season 5 premiere of Mad Men to get the dish on "the best season yet."
With the success of the past four seasons, it seems like an impossible task, but the cast of Mad Men assures us that Season 5 will be the best yet.
After almost a year and a half, AMC's hit show is back with all of our favorite characters… Don, Peggy, Joan, Betty, Roger and Pete!
"This is the best season yet," Robert Morse, who plays Sterling Cooper's senior partner Bert Cooper, told SheKnows. "This is an explosive, wonderful season."
As for what happens with the storylines (Does Don marry Megan? Does Joan have the baby?), the cast was predictably tight-lipped. However, Jon Hamm did let us in on what he would like to see happen with his bad boy character, Don Draper.
"I would like to see him happy," said Hamm. "I think that's a big part of the show, his pursuit of happiness. I would really like to see Don fulfilled in his life."
The hard-drinking, womanizing Draper seemed to be settling down at the end of Season 4, proposing to his children's nanny. But as we know from the history of the show, things aren't always as they seem.
"He certainly had a big life shift at the end of last season and we'll continue to watch the fallout from that," Jon told SheKnows. "It's a very different reality for him this season."
This season was very different for Hamm's co-star January Jones as well, however her changes were personal. The mother of three on-screen was managing a real life pregnancy off-screen while filming.
"It's hard," Jones told us, of working full-time and being a new mom. "You miss your child, but I really think it's important to have something for yourself. It keeps you sane and makes you a better parent."
Jones gave birth to son Xander in September.
Season 5 of Mad Men premieres on AMC on March 25 9/8 p.m. central.
