She works for a sheik. He loves fish. Their worlds couldn't be farther apart. But that doesn't stop her from taking him on this mission to the Middle East. What are we talking about, you ask? Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, the new romantic comedy starring Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt.
Blunt plays Harriet Chetwode-Talbot, an aide to a very high powered sheik who is used to getting what he wants. When the sheik, played by Amr Waked, decides he wants to start a salmon fishing reserve in the Middle East, he tells his girl to get it done.
Not used to taking no for an answer either, Ms. Chetwode-Talbot gets right down to it. Through various forms of research, she ends up face-to-face with Dr. Fred Jones, a fishing specialist, played by Ewan McGregor.
He, of course, thinks she's out of her mind.
These two can't agree on the best way to bring this fishery to the sandy desert, but they do have a lot of chemistry. Whoops! We smell a recipe for love. Coming together on this mission of madness might be just what these two lonely souls need... to find a little love along the way.
When she finally convinces him to give the idea a chance, these two are in for more than just a wild ride.
Obstacles are thrown their way, but through it all they try to stick together. Sounds a lot like marriage! Discuss your differences and compromise. We're just hoping adorable Emily and sexy Ewan can pull it off.
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is based on a novel by the same name written by Paul Torday. The film releases in theaters March 9.
