What's up with all the buzz about Macaulay Culkin?
Much ado about nothing, if you ask his rep.
Entertainment Tonight posted recent photos of the '90s child star online on Thursday. Hollywood dropped a collective jaw as the entertainment news magazine unveiled snapshots of the new Macaulay, described as "extremely thin and scruffy."
It's true: The 31-year-old looked a wee bit -- er -- weird as he posed with fans in New York this week. Culkin sported sullen skin and a toothy grin while sipping a Red Bull energy drink and gabbing with photo-seekers.
Sheesh -- what a couple of decades and a breakup with Mila Kunis can do to a guy.
In spite of the tongue-wagging of celeb watchers, the actor's rep claims Culkin is completely fine.
"Macaulay Culkin is in perfectly good health," Culkin's publicist says. "For Entertainment Tonight or any other media to speculate otherwise is thoughtless, irresponsible and destructive."
Well, now that that's settled.
Macaulay's had a notoriously rough run since making his mark as Kevin McCallister, a cheeky little tyke in the Home Alone flicks.
He famously became embroiled in a bitter dispute with his own parents, Christopher Culkin and Patricia Brentrup. The younger Culkin divorced his kin after filing a legal suit that accused them of squandering his film fortune.
In 2004, Macaulay was arrested for possession of marijuana and two controlled substances. The following year, he was subpoenaed to testify in Michael Jackson's child molestation trial.
A career resurgence of sorts came in 2008. Mac was cast in the short-lived NBC comedy, Kings. He played the exiled nephew of a royal family before the series was canceled after just one season.
Culkin is rumored to be starring in the British military action film Service Man. The movie is set for release in 2013.
