The Giants and Patriots may take the title of hard-hitting Super Bowl action, but it's the stars of Puppy Bowl VIII who will be bringing an abundance of cute to the game!

Tom Brady and Eli Manning haven't got anything in their rocket-armed arsenal that can compete with the power of puppies. Lucky for hardcore sports fans (and those of us who look forward to the Super Bowl for the commercials, snacks and halftime show) the puppies are back to once again!

Shelter puppies, found through adoption site Petfinder, will compete to score doggy touchdowns and win the title of Most Valuable Pup.

In a promo for Puppy Bowl VIII Animal Planet touts:

Puppy Bowl is back for its 8th consecutive year with an all-star, all-adorable cast that's ready to mix it up on the grand gridiron of Animal Planet Stadium. New this year: Meep the Bird who will tweet all the action from inside the stadium and a piggy pep squad that will "ham" it up on the sidelines and squeal with delight for their favorite pups.
