Gwyneth Paltrow had a dream that one day she'd have a daughter who would love dressing up in all of the red carpet gowns she's carefully saved. Though the idea she'd have a "cool butch lesbian" daughter uninterested in such frills did cross her mind, Apple appears to be game for the hand-me-downs.
"I've been saving my clothes for her since before she was born," Gwyneth Paltrow told Harper's Bazaar. "I was like, 'I'll bet you anything I'll have a daughter, and she'll be a really cool butch lesbian and be so above clothes,' and I got a very clothes-obsessed child. So if she's a lesbian, she's a lipstick lesbian."
Speaking of 7-year-old daughter Apple, the actress continued, "She doesn't like anything avant-garde at all. She likes anything that's pretty, pretty, pretty or has a bow or a ruffle or is pink."
Apple, whose younger brother is 5-year-old Moses, is choosey about which of her mother's gowns she likes -- much like the unforgiving fashion police. On the 'no' list? The infamous black, mesh bodice Alexander McQueen gown Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the Oscars in 2002.
"I loved it!" Gwyneth Paltrow, pictured here in another daring fashion choice in 2011, insisted of the McQueen gown. Though she does admit, "But I think the hair was a mistake. I shouldn't have had it braided."
Paltrow, who says the daily school run is "such a f***ing drag" went on to discuss the possibility of having another child with husband Chris Martin.
"The other day, I was saying to Chris, 'The window's closing. Do we want to have another baby? I don't think we do, but let's just have the discussion,' and he said, 'We can have another baby, but you realize you'll be doing the school run until you're 58.' I said, 'Let's just not! We're good!'"
