President Barack Obama wowed the crowd when he broke into an Al Green song at The Apollo last week -- but Michelle Obama says that's all par for the course at home.
The Prez and Michelle Obama are totally gettin' down in the White House. The First Lady told Jay Leno that she wasn't surprised at all to hear that Barack Obama wowed the crowd at the Apollo last week with a short rendition of "Let's Stay Together" -- because he sings sexy songs to her all the time.
Leno asked the First Lady about her hubby's surprising singing ability during an appearance on The Tonight Show.
"Did you ever think at this point in your lives together that he would become a singing sensation?" he asked.
"Not at all, not at all!" Michelle responded.
"Did he say to you, 'Honey, I'm at the Apollo tonight, I'm gonna sing?'"
"No," she said. "That was completely spontaneous. I didn't even hear about it until it got on YouTube."
"But he does have a beautiful voice and he sings to me all the time," she revealed.
"He sings that song. That's why I knew when people said he sang, I said, 'I bet he sang Al Green.'"
"'I…'" she started to sing. "He does that all the time. I can't sing… But he doesn't hesitate to show off his lungs to his wife."
"He sings a lot of Al Green, Marvin Gaye, a little Stevie, he likes the classics."
It's getting sexy up in the White House! Unfortunately, the couple's two daughters Malia and Sasha don't share everyone else's enthusiasm for their dad's singing skills.
"Anything we do is highly embarrassing," the First Lady said of the two teens. "They just want us to be very quiet."
