Guess they weren't the world's most perfect couple after all.
Heidi and Seal were renowned for renewing their wedding vows every year (and for their star-studded annual Halloween party), but they released a statement this week claiming they've "grown apart" after almost seven years of wedded bliss.
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart."
Seal and Heidi raise four children together; Henry, 6, 5-year-old Johan, Lou, 2 and daughter Leni, 7, from Heidi's previous relationship with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.
The exes say the protection of their children is their "top priority."
Now that the split is out in the open, some of the details are starting to make their way to the press.
The Mirror claims the supermodel dumped her crooner hubby because of his hard partying. But TMZ suggests it was the musician's "volcanic temper" that really drove her away.
"Seal's inability to control his anger has become too much for Heidi to take, in no small part because it's affecting their children," the website squealed on Monday.
Heidi's career success is also said to have driven a wedge between the pair. The Grammy-winning singer is said to feel his wife lately has been more concerned with her career -- specifically her TV projects like Lifetime's Project Runway and Germany's Next Top Model.
"It's one extreme or the other. They either fight like cats and dogs -- and Heidi has a vicious tongue -- or they are all over each other, constantly kissing and hugging," an informant chuckled. "It was the same thing with Jennifer and Marc [now headed to divorce court], only the screaming and yelling was always in Spanish."
Seal has revealed he will always love Heidi, even if they are getting a divorce. In his first post-split interview on Monday, the "Kiss from a Rose" hit-maker assured PBS talk show host Tavis Smiley that there would be no nasty shenanigans between he and his soon-to-be ex-wife.
"We have a tremendous amount of love and respect for each other and also, of course our children are our first priority," he said. "Just because you decide to separate. I don't think you all of a sudden stop loving each other. I don't think you all of a sudden stop being friends."
It isn't just fans around the globe who are shocked and saddened by the sudden split news. Heidi's father, Gunther Klum, has spoken out, too.
"We are very sad," the German cosmetics mogul told Us Weekly this week.
