ABC's Revenge is about to heat up -- again. The primetime drama already has its fair share of eye candy, but they've got nothing on James Purefoy. The British actor has been cast as a new love interest for the devilish Victoria Grayson.
Victoria is dead serious about her divorce and is ready to move on. Her portrayer, Madeleine Stowe told The Insider, "She's going to have a big, passionate love affair" with Purefoy's character.
"The next number of episodes, you'll see some of [Victoria's] origins," she explained. "You'll see why she connects so peculiarly in such a strange way to people."
Purefoy is just one of many guest stars flooding the show. Over the past few weeks, several TV veterans have signed on for story arcs including William Devane, who'll play Grandpa Grayson.
According to Stowe, the patriarch has a soft spot for her scheming character.
"Grandpa Grayson has very special affection for Victoria. They adore each other and she's using him to turn the tables back on Conrad. He pumps some lifeblood into the show."
Speaking of new blood, Revenge also snagged former Law and Order: Criminal Intent star Courtney B. Vance. He's signed on to appear in four episodes, where he'll play Victoria's new divorce attorney.
As for Purefoy, he'll make his Revenge debut in episode 17. The actor is best known for his roles in HBO's Rome, Starz' Camelot and 2002's Resident Evil. Next, he'll appear on the big screen in Disney's 3D epic John Carter, which hits theaters March 9.
Revenge airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
