Cougar Town's cul-de-sac crew is back. Jules, Grayson, Ellie, Andy, Laurie, Travis and Bobby are returning to ABC. After being sidelined for the fall 2011 season, the network has finally come to its senses.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cougar Town will kick off its third season on Feb. 14 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. It will take over the time slot of the cross-dressing comedy Work It, which was recently canceled.
Cougar Town previously aired on Wednesday nights as a companion to Modern Family, but will now dominate Tuesdays with Tim Allen's Last Man Standing. Unfortunately, due to its late start, Cougar Town's original 22 episodes have been trimmed to 15.
ABC has had a rocky relationship with the show since its 2009 premiere. It doesn't draw huge ratings but it has a passionate niche audience.
When Cougar Town was left in limbo after its spring finale, fans were outraged by its absence. Instead of marketing the show to expand its fan base, ABC ordered new sitcoms such as the aforementioned Work It, Last Man Standing and the flop -- Man Up. But after several misfires, the cougars are coming home.
The last time we saw the Cougar Town gang, Jules and Grayson had baby on the brain, Travis had a broken heart and Laurie desperately wanted to cheer him up. But that was then, and this is now. Who knows what they've been up to?
