In the long list of famous names who have lent their voices to Glee, Helen Mirren is the latest.
Her new guest role is a tad different, however. We'll hear her, but not see her. Say what?
TVLine is reporting via a source, that Helen Mirren is playing the inner voice of a character.
Helen Mirren in the role of "inner voice?" That's something to add to the old IMDB profile.
Before you ask, no, we don't know which character she's playing the inner voice of -- at least, not yet.
According to the report via TVLine, the source revealed Mirren came in "two weeks ago" and "secretly recorded several long and hilarious monologues."
Helen Mirren also "visited the kids on set, and they had no idea she was coming; they were stunned."
The part was specifically written for Mirren and producers of the show had Eric Stoltz, an occasional Glee director and Mirren's co-star from The Passion Of Ayn Rand, lobby on their behalf.
It obviously worked.
Helen Mirren's episode will air on Jan. 17. Wait, that date sounds very familiar.
Jan. 17 is the same date NeNe Leakes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta makes her debut as McKinley's new swim coach, Roz Washington.
A housewife and an Academy Award winner all in one episode? Happy holidays to us!
NeNe Leakes tweeted on Dec. 19 in regard to her new role, "The secret is out! YES I hav a recurring role on GLEE! I'm coach Roz Washington the synchronized swim coach! So honored.
She followed it up a day later with, "A special Thank u 2 Ryan Murphy the creator of Glee that believed n me & the cast 4 comin n my trailer welcomin me wit open arms."
