Which Road Would You Take?

Blockbuster author Kristin Hannah blew readers away with her novel Night Road -- now in paperback and our Red Hot Book this week. We're bringing you the book trailer for this rich, complex and suspenseful story of the unraveling of a family.

Night Road is one of Kristin NIght RoadHannah's best. Described as vivid, universal and emotionally complex, the novel raises profound questions about motherhood, identity, love and forgiveness. With such a powerful plot, we couldn't put it down, reading Night Road into the wee hours of the night.

Night Road

For 18 years, Jude Farraday has put her children's needs above her own, and it shows -- her twins, Mia and Zach are bright and happy teenagers. When Lexi Baill moves into their small, close-knit community, no one is more welcoming than Jude. Lexi, a former foster child with a dark past, quickly becomes Mia's best friend. Then Zach falls in love with Lexi, and the three become inseparable.

Jude does everything to keep her kids on track for college and out of harm's way. It has always been easy -- until senior year of high school. Suddenly she is at a loss. Nothing feels safe anymore. Every time her kids leave the house, she worries about them.

On a hot summer's night, her worst fears come true. One decision will change the course of their lives. In the blink of an eye, the Farraday family will be torn apart and Lexi will lose everything. In the years that follow, each must face the consequences of that single night and find a way to forget… or find the courage to forgive.

I loved the book, and found myself crying thru some of it but I have a question that puzzled me all thru the book. Before the accident occurred, this is what was written and I quote "He wrenched the driver's door open and fell into the seat. The keys were in the well; he searched around, swearing and then laughted, Got em". Next paragraph - "Zach slipped the key into the ignition and started the engine, which roard to life in the quiet darkness". How come everybody, including Zach and Lexi said that she was driving and she went to prison for it. I waited thru the whole book for it to come out that he had done the driving. Please explain to me Thank you.....Pat
