NBC's Grimm will tackle the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel, only this time they'll be homeless teens in Portland named Hanson and Gracie.
Spy Kids' star Daryl Sabara is going to take on the role of Hanson while Hannah Marks of USA's Necessary Roughness plays Gracie.
According to a report via Entertainment Weekly, "Hanson (Sabara) and Gracie (Marks) are homeless teens trying to survive on the streets of Portland, when they unexpectedly get caught up in the creature world's deadly black market of human organ dealing."
Is anyone else pretty sure that's not the story we know and love? We kind of like it, though! It's dark and mysterious, just like Grimm!
If you haven't figured it out by now based on the description, the episode will be titled "Organ Grinder." That's intriguing and gross all at the same time.
If you haven't been following Grimm, it's based on Grimm's Fairy Tales and follows Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) as he discovers he is "descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as 'Grimms,'"
It's much darker than some of the fairy tale spin-offs out there and this fresh story on Hansel and Gretel is proof.
We have to wonder: Hansel and Gretel originally followed a trail of bread crumbs to an old witch and her very, very hot oven. How do you think this new twist is going to go?
Will they follow a trail of limbs to their destination? Okay, that's just not cool.
We want to hear from you -- what do you think of the new take on Hansel and Gretel? Will you be watching to see how one of the most popular fairy tales in history gets the Grimm treatment?
