Blunt Puts The Brakes On Marriage
Universal has released the first trailer for the Jason Segel and Emily Blunt comedy The Five-Year Engagement. The film centers on a happy young couple whose wedding plans hit the skids.
Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for The Five-Year Engagement, which follows unlucky lovebirds Tom (Segel) and Victoria (Blunt). After Tom proposes to his longtime girlfriend, he's more than ready to take the walk down the aisle. But Victoria's rising career derails their wedding by two, four and eventually five years. The Five-Year Engagement is directed by Nicholas Stoller, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Segel. The duo previously worked together on this year's The Muppets as well as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek. Aside from Segel and Blunt, The Five-Year Engagement features plenty of familiar faces like Oscar-nominee Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom), Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation), Alison Brie (Community) and Rhys Ifans (Anonymous). Jason Segel currently stars on the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother, which airs Monday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Aside from The Five-Year Engagement, next year he'll appear in the Judd Apatow comedy This is Forty, which is a loose spin-off of 2007's Knocked Up. Before landing her role as Victoria, Emily Blunt worked with Stoller and Segel in 2010's Gulliver's Travels and last month's The Muppets. She's currently filming the dramedy Arthur Newman, Golf Pro opposite Oscar-winner Colin Firth and Anne Heche.
