There's lots of star power performing this year at the American Music Awards, set for broadcast 8 p.m. EST/PST Sunday on ABC, but there's almost an equal amount of celeb wattage power who will be doing the introductions.
The one star presenter who caught our eye is Selena Gomez. With Justin Bieber scheduled to perform on the show (and he's also up for the Pop or Rock Music: Top Male Artist award) the AMA's look to be the first public outing of Biebs and Gomez together since the now-dropped paternity case against Bieber.
Will it be a show of solidarity or will the two just pass in the night? We're locked in.
The other presenters include Alanis Morissette, Benjamin Bratt, Cheryl Hines, Gavin DeGraw, Heidi Klum, Hot Chelle Rae, Jane Levy, Jennifer Hudson, Jenny McCarthy, Joe Jonas, John Legend, Josh Kelley, Julie Bowen, Katherine Heigl, Katie Leclerc, Lionel Richie, Matthew Morrison, Nickelback, Queen Latifah, Robin Thicke, Sarah Hyland, Sean Kingston, Taio Cruz, Taylor Swift, and Vanessa Marano, plus a few to surprises, according to an AMA press release.
The performers include Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Drake, Gym Class Heroes, David Guetta, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Pitbull, Maroon 5, OneRepublic, The Band Perry and will.i.am.
Other couplings we'll be looking out for are exes Anthony and Lopez (will J.Lo's new beau, dancer Casper Smart, be on stage with her, too?) and Perry and Travie McCoy from Gym Class Heroes. We always thought Perry and McCoy were quite the couple, in an indie rock kind of way.
Prior to the AMAs, ABC will air a live pre-show called Countdown to The American Music Awards, hosted by Chris Harrison and Vanessa Minnillo with reporting by Ryan Devlin, starting at 7 p.m. EST/PST.
