Cox was seen cheering Arquette on during his run on Dancing with the Stars, but the actor tells The View it was little more than a case of supporting a good friend.
"We love each other, we're dear friends," Arquette told Barbara Walters, "and we shared 15 years of a friendship and a marriage together, but no, it comes down to compatibility, and although we're really great friends, that part died. It's unfortunate but we grew apart. It's really important for people to stay connected."
"But we're sort of closer than ever. I went through a hard time and I took a really hard look at myself and I learned how to communicate."
There might not be a romantic reunion in the works, but the pair is expanding their partnership in other areas. The duo just sold a yet-unnamed sitcom to ABC about a former overeater who has dropped the weight but has to work in a diner. Cox and Arquette are both attached to the project as executive producers.
Courtney Cox and David Arquette split in Oct. 2010 after 11 years of marriage. Neither has filed for divorce yet. They have a 7-year-old daughter, Coco, who was also in the Dancing with the Stars audience to root on her dad.
