It seemed fitting to the American press that just a day after announcing her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian seemingly sprinted out of the country and traveled as far away as she possible could -- to Australia. It was later revealed Kim had a work function to attend; Kim and her sisters traveled to Australia for yet another business venture. They are promoting a new handbag line designed by the Kardashian sisters that is exclusive to Australia. Of all the things you might say about Kim's lack of commitment in her less-than-stellar love life, you can't deny she certainly is dedicated to her career.
On Thursday, Kim was on an Australian morning news show Sunrise where she was handed some tough and personal questions by host David Koch. TMZ initially reported the story around midnight this morning; the interview originally aired Thursday morning in Australia.
Kim seemed uncharacteristically shy -- a far cry from her usual camera-ready personality. Younger sister Khloe Kardashian sat by Kim's side during the uncomfortable interview as Kim did her best to face the media after her heavily-publicized filing for divorce from Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage.
David Koch: "What do you want to say?"
Kim K: "You know, I just, I really wanted to stick with my commitment to come out here to Australia. I love our fan base out here, and of course I do really want some time really to myself, and it's [the divorce] a really tough thing to go through."
David Koch: "A lot of people go through divorces, don't they? A lot of relationships don't work. Um, but I suppose the big question that we're getting from viewers is how hard did you work to keep it together? Did you go take marriage counseling, did you go through that? Did you really try to keep it together?"
Kim K: "I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just have to just listen to your intuition and follow your heart, there's no right or wrong thing to do. Um, so I really believe that um, you know I don't think I'm ready to get into the details of it.
"I think what really just upsets me most is that there has been from the start so many rumors of money and dollar signs of all these things thrown up in the air that this cost us this much, and this much, and this much and so much of it not being true."
Kim continued, "It's kind of what you get for living your life so publicly on a reality show, I get that. I get that the questions are going to be asked and the scrutiny is going to come and there will be mixed emotions and so many rumors -- that comes along with the territory. It also teaches me that I kind of want to step back a little bit."

While there is no proof yet regarding whether or not Kim and Kris profited from the wedding, at least Ms. Kardashian can sleep a little more soundly knowing her cash is safe from Humphries thanks to their prenup.
