Politicians beware -- Jimmy Kimmel is heading to the White House and he's bringing his appetite.
Jimmy Kimmel is gearing up to play a host of a different kind on April 28. The late night host of Jimmy Kimmel Live will host the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.
Jimmy Kimmel will no doubt bring a fresh, fun feel to the 98th White House Correspondents' Association Dinner and he had this to say about it: "I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner."
In true Kimmel fashion, the ABC host added, "I love dinner."
The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner is a big event that brings the President, and the First Lady, of course, together with celebrities and top-level government officials for an evening of dining and wit.
But you don't get a bunch of important names together without expecting a good deed to come from the event: Proceeds go towards scholarships for future journalists.
So, why Jimmy Kimmel?
"Jimmy's humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience," said Caren Bohan, president of the White House Correspondents' Association.
Bohan added, "we are thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner."
We loved him dressing up as Donkey Kong for Halloween and bringing us the latest from the superheroes outside his studio, but will he be a good host for the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner?
