Kim Kardashian's decision to file for divorce from Kris Humphries wasn't exactly news to anyone who actually watched their "fairytale" wedding special on E! The two argued more than they got along and it was pretty obvious that Humphries was only an accessory for Kardashian's wedding plans.
Plus, the duo made something like $17 million for the wedding and all the associated promotional appearances. It was a money-making venture -- for sure -- but love? Nope, don't think so.
Why were they doomed from the start? Oh, let us count the ways.
Kim's superiority complex
Kardashian is one of the richest girls in the world these days -- and she had no qualms about telling Humphries exactly why she wore the pants in the relationship.
"We come from different worlds, okay?" Kardashian told Humphries in a fight over her last name, commenting on her higher social status and family background.
"Four years ago, you were folding clothes at a boutique in the Valley," Humphries snapped back. "And now you're Miss Princess."
Humphries didn't do a lot to endear himself to the Kardashian machine -- and Khloe Kardashian wasn't afraid of letting him know all about it.
"Do you know why I call you Frankie? Because you remind me of a glimpse of Frankenstein. You just need little bolts right here," she told Humphries during one of their 10,000 fights during the special.
"Kim and Kris, we wish you the best and a long future together. 'Til death do you part. Death, 26-year-old, death," she snapped during their engagement dinner.
Plus, Kris Jenner was obviously not a fan of Humphries' free-thinking ways -- she needed someone who she could control, like she does with her daughters.
Humphries is only 26 and Kardashian turned 31 last week. No, age doesn't make that much of a difference, but it's obvious they are on two different paths in life. Humphries still wants to sow his wild oats, while Kardashian is consumed with expanding her brand and having kids.
Plus, it's all the more obvious now that Kardashian chose Humphries because he said yes to E! A story in the New York Post revealed that the network's producers approached New York Knicks' player Danilo Gallinari to date the star, but he declined.
