Video of Zooey Deschanel singing the national anthem at game 4 of the World Series this past Sunday is quickly becoming the talk of the town. Watch below as the New Girl actress belts it out!

Among those sharing praise for Zooey Deschanel's national anthem performance are Judy Blume and Nick Kroll. The author tweeted Sunday night, "Zooey was amazing." While the actor wrote to the 31-year-old, "You just sang the [expletive] out of the national anthem."

Bravo TV's Watch What Happens Live! host Andy Cohen also chimed in by tweeting, "Nolan Ryan dropped the ball! Zooey did great though!"

Zooey Deschanel, who has been half of the band She & Him with M. Ward since 2006, pulled off her performance without a hitch, unlike recent national anthem flubbers Cyndi Lauper and Christina Aguilera. Yet baseball fans are still angry at the New Girl actress.

Later on in the game, the cameras panned to Zooey Deschanel's empty seat, as announcers pointed out she had left the game already. In response to fans criticism Zooey tweeted late Sunday night, "Would have loved to have watched the whole game but I had to catch a plane so I can go to work tomorrow. That's all guys. I'm not a jerk."

Sung pleasantly and reverently, just as it should be. Well done. Tired of hearing performers howling and wailing their versions. It is neither a country tune nor R&B, Jazz or Rock tune. It's our National Anthem. You don't hear other nations anthem sung with the "it's all about me" approach that we too often have to listen to. That being said, I think "America The Beautiful' should be the replacement for our National Anthem. Use the old one for military events.
