Last night on America's Next Top Model (ANTM), the contestants were photographed with supermodel Coco Rocha for episode six. As is traditional top model procedure, the ANTM girls participated in a photo shoot with an outrageous/ridiculous theme. (Past photo shoots have included modeling as vampires in a bathtubs filled with blood and trying to pose underwater with their eyes open.)
Yesterday's photo shoot theme centered around Coco Rocha in the midst of a bar fight with two other ANTM girls. Most of the poses consisted of Rocha pulling on one contestant's hair while the other girl screamed in fear; understandable -- what could be worse than someone pulling out your hair extensions?
And of course, what's ANTM without some model drama? All-stars Bre and Angelea both had meltdowns but in very different ways. Bre used the photo shoot's pseudo-fight theme as a chance to literally act out the frustration that has been building up in her since the beginning of the season. Rocha was a true professional, putting up with Bre actually kicking her and pulling on her clothes a little too aggressively. Angelea walked off-set in tears, then had a little pep talk from Mr. Jay that helped her pull through to get a good picture.
Rocha also served as the guest judge for ANTM's panel of four judges, which consist of Vogue's editor-at-large Andre Leon Tally, Ms. Tyra Banks, and "noted fashion photographer" Nigel Barker. Coco called out Bre's photo shoot antics in judging, saying Bre was "shocking", "unprofessional", and -- worst of all -- "forgot how to pose."
In the end, both Coco and the rest of the judges thought Dominique had the best photo, while Bre was sent home.
Coco Rocha is one of the most famous fashion industry judges to appear on ANTM in the show's entire 17-season run. The 23-year-old Canadian supermodel has been on the cover of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar numerous times -- in addition to being the face of pretty much every high-end designer. Her resume includes Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Balenciaga, and Lanvin, just to name a few. Rocha is married to artist James Conran and has publicly spoken out about eating disorders within the modeling industry.
America's Next Top Model airs on the CW Wednesdays at 9/8 central.
