The Muppets' New Trailer Gets Serious
Who needs The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo when you can have The Pig with the Froggy Tattoo? That's the question The Muppets ask with their latest trailer, which tries its best to poke fun at the drama.
No one is safe from The Muppets spoofing machine, including David Fincher's dramatic crime-thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Those hilarious puppets are at it again with a new trailer that rips off the worldwide phenomenon.
Over the spring and summer we were privy to three parody trailers, which included Green with Envy (a take on rom-coms), The Fuzzy Pack (poked fun at The Hangover: Part II) and Being Green (The Green Lantern). The Pig with the Froggy Tattoo falls in line with its predecessors and it doesn't disappoint. The Muppets have been away for years but they're finally back and funnier than ever.
The best thing about the latest spoof is its blatant honesty. It knows that it's trying to copy Fincher's work and it makes no apologies for it. They even note how they couldn't get the music that was used in the original trailer so they pulled a cheaper, knock-off version. Oh those Muppets, always keeping it classy!
The Muppets movie will feature fan favorites such as Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, Animal, Gonzo and Fozzie Bear. And on the human side, Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Rashida Jones and a slew of special guests are set to make appearances.
