"We'll be fighting in your streets a great deal," Christian Bale told Pittsburgh locals during a news conference last Thursday. As promised, The Dark Knight Rises posse was throwing punches in the streets this weekend while shooting prison breakout scenes.
A photographer with a long lens snapped the first shots of Tom Hardy's villainous new character, Bane, going up against Christian Bale as Batman. Marion Cotillard was caught in action along with director Christopher Nolan, who's seen in the video below.
The Dark Knight has already been to London; after Pennsylvania, the crew will move on to the streets of Los Angeles, New York, India, and Scotland. Will that all be Gotham? Or will Bane be taking Batman on a world tour?
The Dark Knight Rises, which also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is set to be released in July 2012.
Thus far, details on Bane have been hush-hush, with Hardy told to keep his lips sealed during Comic-Con.
Bane's military look, snapped by photographer Jared Wickerham of Getty Images, is a bit reminiscent of the post-apocalyptic Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdome. While he looks tough, Batman fans are muttering that Hardy's Bane is just too small. What do you think?
