Remember when Jesse James told anyone who would listen that new fiancé Kat Von D was so much better than Sandra Bullock? Well, Bullock gets the last laugh again: James and his tattoo artist girlfriend have called off their engagement, according to Kat herself.
"I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I'd like to share. Thanks for respecting that," the television star and make-up mogul tweeted Monday night.
The pair got engaged in January after a whirlwind courtship. Bullock's ex even called Von D his best friend.
"You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs," James told People in January.
"I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said 'yes.' Growing old with her is going to be a [expletive] blast!"
The couple dismissed break-up rumors earlier this summer.
"That is absolutely not true," James told People in June. "We're still going strong. Things are completely good with us."
Kat echoed his words. "That's the furthest thing from the truth," she added.
So, why did the couple stay together for so long, anyway? The sex, of course. The West Coast Choppers boss man told Howard Stern that the sex was "100 percent better" with Von D than with Bullock.
"The problem was me... I could marry anyone and it didn't matter because I would always screw it up and sabotage it because I couldn't live with myself... she could stand there in front of the world and say she loved me, but in my mind I was thinking... 'You don't love me. I'm just some biker kid.'"
Boo hoo. Sounds like James got what he deserved... again.
