Danielle Doty of Harlingen, Texas was crowned 2011 Miss Teen USA at the pageant held at the Atlantis Paradise Island and Resort in the Bahamas.
Doty, 18, beat out Alexis Swanstrom from California (second runner-up), Taylor Clark from Kansas (third runner-up) and Sydnee Stottlemyre from Missouri (fourth runner-up).
Co-hosted by Fox 8 News sports reporter Allie LaForce (who was Miss Teen USA 2005) and TV personality Chet Buchanan, the event was streamed live Saturday night on the Miss Teen USA website.
Judges for the 2011 Miss Teen USA pageant included Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, People's Choice Awards president Fred Nelson, celebrity dermatologist Dr. Cheryl Karcher, former head of MTV's East Coast Talent and Series Development Vinnie Potestivo and entertainment guru BJ Coleman.
The judges ranked the contestants in three categories, including swimsuit, evening gown and interview.
Texas has not taken the Miss Teen USA crown since 1996, when Christie Lee Woods won the event. Woods later went on to be a contestant on The Amazing Race.
The winner of last year's pageant was Kamie Crawford from Maryland.
The winner of Miss Congeniality went to Savannah Schecter from New Jersey and Miss Photogenic was Courtney Coleman from Hawaii.
Past winners of Miss Teen USA include Vanessa Minnillo (1998), Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (1990) and Carrie Prejean.
