Alba On Body Image & Mommyhood
Actress Jessica Alba says she will never again look the way she did before having her first baby -- and she's okay with that.
Jessica Alba sat down with Allure magazine to talk body image.
"I can't ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor," Alba said. "My body's just different. The jeans just sort of zip up differently, and things hang differently. It's a miracle what happens, but you definitely are different afterward. Unless you're Gisele."
Giselle got her bikini body back approximately 8.7 nanoseconds after giving birth. Most of us aren't so lucky, and Alba's comments remind us that "the beautiful people" are just like us.
Alba also says that while she doesn't look quite as spectacular as she did back in the day, she feels more beautiful and feminine than ever.
"I was quite shy with it," she said. "It wasn't something I embraced until I had my daughter. I saw how incredible and amazing it is to be a woman and to be able to create a life. There's a reason why certain areas of the body are desirable -- because it all leads to reproduction."
Also, fun. It all leads to fun. Hopefully more often than it leads to babies.
Jessica Alba is pregnant with her second baby, due in September. She plans to use the HypnoBirth technique.
