Gary Dourdan is being charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a June 13 arrest.
On the night in question, cops found the former CSI star trying to leave the scene of an accident in which he smashed into multiple parked cars. When his car was searched, LAPD found what turned out to be illegally gained Oxycodone pills -- aka "hillbilly heroin," a highly addictive opiate-based painkiller.
These misdemeanor drug charges mean the actor could face up to a year in jail if convicted.
This isn't the first time Dourdan has had a run-in with the law. After his character was killed off of CSI in 2008, Dourdan was busted with heroin, ecstasy and cocaine. He narrowly avoided a prison term by entering a drug diversion program.
The actor will be arraigned later today.
