Linda Hogan told Matt Lauer that her ex-husband Hulk Hogan was so abusive that she thought he would kill her.
Not everything on reality television is as it seems, apparently. Linda Hogan sat down with Matt Lauer on Today to talk about her new autobiography and, among the dirty laundry she's airing, she says that her ex-husband Hulk Hogan was so violent she thought he would kill her.
In Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes, Linda writes, "He tore my shirt. He threw lamps. He held me down on the bed with his hands around my throat during arguments, slamming doors, pounding walls. I was always afraid he would kill me in one of his rages."
"That was something that scared me. I did not want to be a statistic like Nicole Simpson."
"He did not feel remorse -- and to this day he's never apologized for any of his actions," Linda claims.
When pressed by Lauer about why she never contacted authorities, Linda said she was afraid to say anything.
"Had I said something the carpet would have been pulled up underneath his career, I don't know what my kids would have done, you know, they were little at the time. It's scary. It's a very scary position. You don't know how far they're gonna go," she said.
"One fight can escalate and turn into something you don't want."
Linda filed for divorce from Hulk Hogan in 2007 after she found out he was cheating on her while filming Hogan Knows Best.
