Taylor Momsen's racy fashion

Former Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen showed up at a festival in the UK wearing alarmingly little clothing. What is she thinking?

Taylor Momsen and her black electrical tape

It looks like someone is in need of a little attention. Former Gossip Girl brat Taylor Momsen showed up to perform with her band, the Pretty Reckless, at the 2011 Download Festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England, wearing a t-shirt with ripped sides and black electrical tape covering her nipples.

Yes, we're serious.

The blond rebel's choice in clothing is not exactly demure -- especially for a 17-year-old. We've said it once, we'll say it again: Where are this girl's parents? Seriously, we would've been grounded for life if we went out in public like that.

She's just practicing "self expression," though -- so that makes it OK.

"I think firing my stylist has allowed me to be more free," Momsen told MTV recently. She even claims that she doesn't think that much about her style.

"I don't really think that much about it. I kind of just dress in whatever makes me feel comfortable. I like a lot of leather, I like a lot of dresses. I guess it's been known to be provocative. But it's not for any other purpose than I dress for myself, and I do myself up kind of like a doll. I have a doll collection and I look at their outfits and kind of imitate them."

Hmmm... We're not sure we've seen your style on any of our dolls, but OK.

"I was getting molded into this thing that wasn't who I am, and fitting into the world that can make you popular or something. I was never the popular chick so I don't even know what that means... Just making that mental decision that I'm going to be myself and if people hate it they can hate it but at least I'm happy with how I'm walking down the street," she continued.

Well, at least you're comfortable with it -- because we're definitely not.

Do you think her parents should step in on her fashion choices, or is she beyond help?
