Chris Colfer's The Land of Stories

Chris Colfer, known to many of us as Kurt on the hit show Glee, has signed a book deal! The 21-year-old has signed on to publish two books with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.

Chris Colfer's author debut will start with a novel titled The Land of Stories, a piece Chris has been dreaming of writing for years. "When I was 10 years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance," he said. "This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I'm excited and nervous to share it."

The novel -- which is geared to kids age eight to 12 -- will follow the adventures of twins Alex and Connor Bailey, whose world combines a mix of fairytales and modern elements.

Chris Colfer's The Land of Stories is due out in 2012, and an as-yet untitled follow-up to the novel has also been confirmed. A spokesperson for the publisher had these kind words to say about the author-to-be: "Chris is a remarkable talent, whose writing combines all the qualities kids love -- memorable characters, heart-pounding adventure, in a setting filled with wonder, intrigue and enchantment."

Congrats on the book deal to Chris Colfer! Will you be picking up a copy of The Land of Stories?
