Scotty McCreery denies American Idol romance with Lauren Alaina

Scotty McCreery got lucky last night, but not that lucky. McCreery won American Idol, but there is one prize he did not go home with: Runner-up Lauren Alaina.

Despite all appearances of some sort of hanky-panky going on between the two, despite the big kiss Alaina planted on him when his name was called out as the winner, and despite the fact that Alaina hinted at the relationship herself, 17-year-old McCreery says they are just good friends.

"There's no romance," Scotty said during a media conference call. "It's a brother-sister thing. She told me she was going to kiss me before the show. She's great but it's a brother-sister relationship between us."

Here are a couple of facts about teenage boys totally unrelated to the above story -- wink wink -- they are horny and they are very good liars.

Anyway, McCreery and Alaina will have the entire summer to further explore their "brother-sister relationship" during the American Idol tour.
