Kim Kardashian flaunts her huge $2 million engagement ring from fiancé Kris Humphries at the Los Angeles airport. Do you think she is nervous someone will run up and snatch that off of her finger? Her hubby-to-be was with her at the airport, but I think a security guard escort may be needed to wear that huge ring! See below for a close-up photo of the ring.
The Lorraine Schwartz platinum ring has a 16.5 carat emerald cut center stone, surrounded by a pair of two carat trapezoids which makes it a total of 20.5 carats.
"Lorraine Schwartz is known for excellent quality diamonds," jewelry expert Michael O'Connor tells Us Weekly. The jeweler also created Beyonce's engagement ring and has outfitted Kim in jewels for many red carpet appearances.
"The emerald cut center is a classic cut, but the trapezoids modernize the style," he says. "Since the center diamond is rectangular shaped, it elongates Kim's hand, making the ring look even more elegant."
Humphries skips over the cut of the ring, and focuses on the size. "I just knew I wanted it to be big!" he tells People.
Kim gushes that it is exactly what she wanted. "In high school I went to Macy's and bought this fake ring, my 'perfect' ring, and this is almost the exact same," she says.
