No album from Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow isn't so perfect after all -- her record deal has fallen apart because she got greedy.

If you were planning on putting the Gwyneth Paltrow album on your holiday gift list later this year, don't hold your breath. The actress' record deal has fallen apart.

Paltrow has had quite the musical year, appearing on Glee a couple of times and giving a surprisingly acclaimed vocal performance in Country Strong. So what happened?

Basically, she asked for an insane amount of money and the people at Atlantic Records about fell out of their chairs laughing at her.

Sources say that Paltrow is totally out of touch with the music industry, familiar with only the huge paychecks garnered by proven sellers like Coldplay, fronted by her husband Chris Martin, and asked for a whopping $1 million just to sign.

"Atlantic bosses were very interested," a source told the New York Post. "But then the talks halted and the deal fizzled out... [$1m was] a ridiculous figure."

Paltrow's rep got a little huffy when contacted for comment by the Post. "Atlantic was not the only company pursuing her, and she still has not decided if she wants to record an album," adding, it "is still something she is considering."

Thank goodness she has that vegetable garden full of salvia to feed her family.
