Sarah Palin's son is a married man! Track Palin, 22, married his high school sweetheart, 21-year-old Britta Hanson, in a small wedding ceremony in Hatcher Pass, Alaska.
It looked like a casual family affair, as Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, posed with the newly married couple and her parents -- all in jeans and jackets. Britta and Track were also dressed in blue jeans, however, the bride wore a white blazer and held a bouquet of flowers.
The couple plans on having a larger wedding this winter at an Alaskan ski resort "when extended family and friends from the Lower 48 can travel north for a long ski weekend," says Palin.
In a joint statement to People, the Hansons and the Palins said: "Our families couldn't be happier! These are two hard working, humble, active, studious young adults who grew up together. We're tickled that after two decades of friendship we proudly witnessed their marriage, knowing their new life together will be blessed."
No word on why the couple wanted to tie the knot with a small ceremony this month, however, Hatcher Pass is sentimental to the families. "The Hanson and Palin families are ecstatic and proud that Britta and Track married in one of our favorite spots in America, spectacular Hatcher Pass, Alaska. It's a site we've all shared fun memories of skiing, snowboarding, hiking and snow machining."
Track is an Army Reservist who spent a year in Iraq and Britta is a nursing student at the University of Alaska.
Congratulations to Britta and Track Palin!
