Sexy stubble, that strong jawline, and an affinity for signing on to well-written dramas and comedies?
We like everything about you, Jon Hamm!
Without Hamm inhabiting the ad man's sharp suits on Mad Men, Don Draper might not be a character we could root for. But here's the great thing about hottie Hamm: He makes even a flawed person look vulnerable, layered and sympathetic. And hot. Of course, hot.
Trust us, we'd happily take a seat at Don Draper's secretary's desk in a heartbeat: "One cube or two in your Canadian Club, Mr. Draper?"
The fake Saturday Night Live commercial for "Jon Hamm's John Ham"? Priceless. He was so great on SNL the first time around, in 2008 (another favorite skit: Don Draper's Guide to Picking Up Women), that he was asked back a second time, in 2010. And who can forget his fantastic role as Liz Lemon's cake-baking, dog-rescuing paramour in 30 Rock?
Now there's Bridesmaids: If you haven't seen it, go tonight! He plays a total jerk to total perfection. (Not that we would mind being jerked around by Jon...)
Our man Hamm grew up in Missouri, attended the University of Missouri, and taught high school drama before taking his chances in L.A. And he hasn't forgotten his Midwest roots.
He once told Rolling Stone: "I fly very low on the radar. Mark Twain said it: 'I'd rather say nothing and be thought an idiot than open my mouth and remove all doubt.' Another Missouri boy, Mark Twain. The petulant, sh**ty movie-star mentality -- that burns out pretty quick."
Jon Hamm has been in a relationship with talented (and flat out gorgeous) Kissing Jessica Stein writer and actress Jennifer Westfeldt since 1997.
The beautiful couple even launched a movie production company together in 2009 called Points West Pictures.
We're kinda jealous, but we adore her work, so we'll say:
Well played, Jennifer!
