Equal Opportunity Loving
Evan Rachel Wood has opened up about her bisexuality, joining a growing list of famous females who love both men and women. Self-described as romantic, you can expect Evan to be the one to pick up the tab and hold open the door while out on a ladies only date.
Evan Rachel Wood's bisexual confession is in the pages of the latest issue of Esquire magazine. The 23-year-old former fiance of rocker Marilyn Manson explains what first attracted her to his unique ways.
"I was always into very androgynous things. Guys, girls...I'm into androgyny in general," she explains. "I think one of the things that freaked people out so much is that we looked so different."
When it comes to dating women, Evan prefers to take on the more traditional male role. "I'm more of like the guy when it comes to girls. I'm the dominant one," she says. "I'm opening the doors, I'm buying dinner. Yeah, I'm romantic."
While bisexuality itself is nothing new, the willingness of those in the public eye to talk freely seems to be a growing trend. Prior to Evan Rachel Wood's bisexuality confession, her True Blood co-star Anna Paquin (now married to Stephen Moyer) shocked fans by coming out in 2010 as part of a PSA for the Give A Damn campaign.
With one recent commenter writing, "I think it would make bigger headlines if someone in Hollywood came out as straight," one has to wonder about the recent popularity of bisexuality.
Are celebrities jumping on the bisexual chic bandwagon? Or is a greater acceptance of bisexuality finally allowing the truth to emerge?
