Ali Fedotowsky: Head banger

Ali Fedotowsky is recovering after a kayaking incident left her with a gash in her head and a chunk of hair missing!

Ali Fedotowsky: Head bangerAli Fedotowsky just wanted a fun afternoon out with her fiance, Roberto Martinez -- but what started out as an active date turned into a major headache. Literally.

The Bachelorette star tweeted to fans when she began her adventure, "Kayaking in La Jolla with @BlairAlbanese, Travis and @RobertoMJr."

But just four hours later, she had a very scary story to tell. "Made it out of the ER w/staples in my head & a little less hair after falling out of a kayak. Scary stuff. Wearing a helmet next time," Fedotowsky tweeted.

"I think I freaked out more when the doctor cut my hair rather than when he put staples into my head. Lol. Very thankful to be ok."

"Thanks so much everyone for your concern. Big headache, but managed to hide staples with hair part and I am back at work this morning."

Ali's rep confirmed the incident, telling E! News, "Ali and Roberto had a little mishap when their kayak capsized this weekend."

"Ali was taken to the hospital and had five staples put in her head. Roberto was fantastic, he kept her calm and took great care of her. She is doing fine, and actually off to work this morning."

That's right -- this tough cookie was at her job as a correspondent for FOX 5 San Diego today. And you stayed home with the sniffles. For shame.

Keep your eyes open for Ali Fedotowsky in her upcoming Style Network show!
