Elizabeth Taylor's funeral is today

Elizabeth Taylor is being laid to rest today in the same cemetery as her close friend, Michael Jackson.

Taylor passed away early Wednesday morning from congestive heart failure at 79. She converted to Judaism during her marriages to Eddie Fisher and Mike Todd -- and her family chose to bury her quickly in alliance with Jewish customs.

The Thursday afternoon ceremony at Forest Lake Cemetary in Glendale, Calif., is only for close friends, her children and 10 grandchildren. She has four children: Michael and Christopher Wilding (father is Michael Wilding,) Liza Todd (father is Mike Todd) and Maria Burton (adopted with Richard Burton.)

A public memorial will be held sometime in the future, according to reports. We'd like to see a televised memorial like Jackson's, but obviously smaller in scope. Maybe a special where famous friends and fans talk about their favorite Elizabeth Taylor memories?

However it's done, we'd like to see a tribute fitting for such a Hollywood icon.
